Cinnamon Apple French Toast


2 slices white stale bread
2 eggs
250 ml milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
100 grams mascarpone cheese
Cinnamon Apple:
2 green apples, peeled, cored & cut into wedges
50 grams soft brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons dark rum
20 grams unsalted butter
100 ml clarified butter


11. To make the apples, heat butter in a pan, add brown sugar and cinnamon, fry apple wedges until soft. Stir in dark rum
2and lemon juice.
32. To make French toast, beat the eggs and mix with milk and vanilla essence. Soak bread slices with the milk mixture
4and leave for 5 minutes.
53. Heat clarified butter and pan-fry the bread slices over low heat until golden brown on both sides, about 8 minutes for
6total cooking time. Remove and drain on a kitchen paper towel.
74. Serve the French toasts hot with cinnamon apple and mascarpone cheese.
